Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup - B10 // REVIEW

Hey guys! I hope that you all had a great Easter. Sorry for my lack of posts in the last couple of weeks - I was away for five days and kind of fell of the blogging bandwagon! Today I am here with my review of the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup, which I have talked about a few times recently!

This had always interested me, as I had heard many people saying how great it is, so when I was kindly sent it I was extremely excited to say the least. I am definitely one to prefer light foundation or BB creams, as they allow my skin to breath whilst helping to smooth it out and give it a little colour, which is exactly what Vitalumiere Aqua does and more!

The coverage is light, however it is quite different to any foundation I've owned before - forgetting the coverage, it gives a glow and just makes my skin look healthier and, well, much better. Since Vitalumiere Aqua is water based, the formulation is extremely light and smooth, making it great for those with normal to dry skin! The water base helps to keep your skin hydrated throughout the day and stops it clinging to small dry patches on application! It has a natural, velvet finish, which actually often results in me not even needing to use any powder!

It is easily buildable, without going cakey, which is definitely a plus if you like to play around with coverage levels! I wouldn't say that this is a foundation for people with porcelain or very pale complexions, as it is has quite a yellow undertone which could be too strong or dark for some people. I wear the shade B10, the lightest shade in the range, but I did find it a tiny bit too dark for me during the winter! Since the sun has come out on the odd occasion though, and given me a little bit of colour, it is the perfect shade for me!

It contains SPF 15, which gives you a great reason to wear this during the Summer! The lasting power is pretty outstanding too! I've applied this at 9am in the morning and it has still remained almost completely there over 12 hours later.

Whilst Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua is definitely quite an expensive product, at £33 for the 30ml bottle, it would be the perfect pick-me-up for yourself or as a special treat! This is definitely very close to becoming my holy grail foundation, as I always find myself coming back to it and find it very hard to fault it. Yet again another amazing Chanel product!

Have you ever used Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua?

Top 5 Spring Lipsticks

Hey guys! Today I am here with my top 5 lipsticks for Spring! Since I started blogging I have grown quite a big lipstick (although it would be called small when compared to many others) and these are a few that I always seem to come back to at this time of year. I am a huge fan of coral and pale pink/peach shades, as they are perfect for when it's Spring or Summer!

I will start with the lipstick on the left! This is the lovely Oriflame Colour Drop Lipstick* in the shade Peach Sensation. This is quite a strong pink shade, with a slight hint of peach! The formulation of this lipstick is pretty amazing - it's incredibly soft, moisturising and glides on really easily! My other favourite thing about it is the smell. It has a gorgeous fruity, peach smell that reminds me of something, but I can't place what! Oriflame do very affordable products that are great quality, plus this lipstick is currently on offer for only £3.95.

Next is the MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in the shade Peach Blossom! This is definitely my favourite lipstick at the moment, because it is just generally amazing. It's a glossy pale pink shade, which is the sort of shade that suits me most (well I think so anyway)! The lasting power is great and it works really well on dry lips. I reviewed it a couple of weeks ago here if you would like to see a more in-depth review!

One of the popular Spring releases this year is the Clarins Opalescence Collection, and I was lucky enough to be sent a few products from it! One of these products was the lovely Clarins Joli Rouge Brilliant Perfect Shine Sheer Lipstick* (wow, that's an extremely long name) in the shade Tropical Pink. This is a light rose shade with a coral undertone, and little bits of glitter! The formulations of this is very buttery, moisturising and it's extremely similar to the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipsticks (my all-time favourite lipstick formulation).

The last two of my top 5 Spring lipsticks are made by Chanel! The first one is the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipstick* in the ever so amazing shade, Idylle. I was sent this way back in July last year, and reviewed it in my Chanel Summer 2013 Collection here! It's a lovely sheer peach shade, with a very moisturising and smooth formulation. Like I said just before, and I have said many times, the Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks are my favourite formulation of lipsticks because of their gorgeous shine and moisture! These are a saviour when my lips are dry, which means they are great all year round. I highly recommend this line of lipstick!

Finally, is the Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour* in Cheri! When I posted about the Chanel Spring 2014 Collection last month here, this definitely seemed to be the shade that you all preferred. It's a really pretty glossy peach shade, with light rose undertones, which is the sort of shade that I would think may suit most people! The finish is perfect - it's smooth, creamy and it's a really versatile shade that could honestly be worn all year round, night and day.

They are my top 5 Spring lipsticks! I definitely didn't used to be a very big lipstick fan, but since I started blogging, and realised just how great they are, I've really fallen for them. They just seem to complete a makeup look, plus you don't get the horrible hair lips that is a result of wearing lipgloss!

What are your favourite lipsticks to wear in Spring?

Quick Mixed Berry Smoothie

Hey guys! A few weeks ago I got a new blender (after one of my dogs chewed the last one), and since I got it I have been making one particular smoothie pretty much non-stop. The smoothie in question is mixed berry! It is extremely easy to make and quite frankly tastes amazing!

I've been having this as breakfast a lot, since it's full of nutrients, and really filling. This recipe makes enough to fill around 5 half pint glasses, meaning that you can adjust is accordingly to however much you want!

You only need a few simple ingredients, all of which you may have already have in your house! This is quite a cheap smoothie to make, as the main part of the drink, the berries, only cost £1.30 from Sainsbury's. The things that you will need are:

415g natural yogurt
380ml semi-skimmed milk
1 banana
400g frozen mixed berries
About 2/3 tablespoons of honey, although you adjust this to whatever you like

All that you need to do is cut the banana up into slices, put everything in the blender, and then blend! I leave it to blend for about 4 minutes, to make sure that everything is all mixed up and there are no lumps of berry left.

I'd suggest stirring it once or twice part of the way through blending, just to make sure that any bits get close enough to the blade at the bottom. I also taste it a couple of times to check whether or not it's sweet enough, and if it isn't I add a little more honey!

All I do after that is just pour some into a glass and add a straw (it somehow tastes better with the straw)! You will then be left with a lovely thick, cold and fruity smoothie to enjoy.

I'd love to know if you try making these and how they turned out! Also if you have any smoothie recipes/ideas I would really like to hear them. I am going to have a look into possibly buying some flax seed, whey and protein powder aswell, since I know that lots of health gurus use those sorts of things in smoothies!

Do you ever make smoothies, if so what's your favourite one to make?

Mini Spring Haul

Hey guys! Lately I have been buying a few things, mainly clothes, in readiness for Spring (although they would still be fine for Summer). Beauty stuff lately hasn't really been interesting me as much, since there hasn't been many releases/popular products that I have desperately wanted, hence the lack of beauty products in this haul! I have been trying to branch out a little more with what I wear, e.g wearing floral clothes since they seem really popular this year, but I will talk about that a bit further into the post!

Just a little note - obviously the dresses are longer than they appear in the photos, I had to fold them up a bit to fit in the photo.

A great bargain that I got a couple of weeks ago was this Red Corsage Dress from F&F at Tesco, which was in their sale for only £5! At first I wasn't really keen on it, but it has definitely grown on me. It goes to just above my knee and I'm 5ft meaning it would be pretty short on anybody taller than me! I posted a photo of me wearing it on Instagram here if you'd like to see it a little better. Now, I have no idea when I will wear this, as I don't do to many events that actually require an outfit like this, however for £5 I wasn't going to refuse.

Dresses are something that I very rarely wear, instead I like to stay in my comfort zone and wear jeans, but this year I am determined to wear more dresses (once it's a bit warmer of course). I don't suit skater dresses or skirts at all, which makes buying dresses/skirts very difficult since a large percentage of the nice, everyday ones are normally in the skater style! I am also trying to wear more prints, so when I saw this Blue Floral Print Crochet Collar Dress from New Look for £17.99, I decided to take a leap and buy it. I'm still not completely converted to it, but the tags have now been taken off so I have no choice!

I got three things from Primark, the first being a Daisy Print T-Shirt, which was only £3 or £4! I got this a couple of sizes bigger, in the size 10, than I normally wear (size 6 or 8), because I always find that the Primark's cheap T-shirts come out extremely small and tight after they have been washed a couple of times. Plus who would really want a top that would make you boil when it is, hopefully, warm?!

The next thing from Primark was a Black & White Daisy Skirt! This was £6 if I remember correctly, which I thought was really good for such a pretty little skirt. It would be great to wear with a top of some sort and some ballet flats when it's sunny! A problem that I very often find with Primark's clothes is that they tend to be quite thin and see-through, however this isn't at all. It has a silky under layer, then the top net part with the design on, which I think is quite good quality for only £6!

The last thing was a Pack Of 5 Tan Tights for £2.50. These are not interesting in the slightest, just cheap, thin tights that I wanted to try on with a dress to wear to my Aunty's wedding (I later found out that they look awful with the dress so that ruled them out)!

I will start off with the Sterling Silver & Cubic Zirconium Necklace! I saw this on offer on Amazon a few days ago, and it looks really cute so I thought that I would get it and see what I thought. It only cost £13 and it looked really cute! It's quite dainty too so I am probably wearing it to my Aunty's wedding this month!

A product that I saw being talked about a lot last year was the Michel Mercier Detangling Brush, since many people said that it was better than the Tangle Teezer! When I saw this one, for fine hair, in Tk Maxx a little while ago for only £7.99, I was pretty excited as I had been contemplating whether to buy one at their full price (around £13) online. I have only used it a couple of times since I got it, but so far so good!

I got a couple of bits from Boots last Monday, the first being the Barry M Gelly Nail Polish in the shade Rose Hip, which cost £3.99! This is from Barry M's new Spring collection, meaning I was very excited to try it. I tried it pretty much as soon as I got home but I was actually slightly disappointed! The colour was a lot paler than I expected, and didn't suit me much, plus I actually found it to be quite a gloopy (not gel like) consistency. Has anybody else found that with it?

Finally the second thing that I got from Boots was the Garnier Summer Body Light Sunkissed Look Moisturising Lotion for £2.55! I used this all throughout summer last year and really liked it since it very rarely went streaky, and the finish was lovely. I am close to finishing my old bottle so I thought that I would get a new one for Spring and Summer!

That is what I have bought recently! I may well have a more beauty orientated haul coming up soon as my wishlist is gradually growing, I'm just waiting now for Boots or Superdrug to start their 3 for 2 offers. If anybody knows when either are starting I'd love to know please!

Have you been buying anything for Spring?

MAC Cremesheen Lipstick - Peach Blossom // REVIEW

Hey guys! Lately I have been absolutely loving a MAC lipstick in the shade Peach Blossom, which is one of their Cremesheen formulations. I received this on my birthday (December), and since early February I have been wearing it non-stop! I used it in my Spring Switch Up Makeup post last month.

The name "Peach Blossom" is actually rather deceiving as I wouldn't really class it as peach! It's actually more of a glossy pale pink shade, quite similar to MAC Creme Cup, although a bit lighter (I know that many of you own that shade, so you get a rough idea of Peach Blossom).

The formulation is very creamy, smooth and light. I find it quite similar to the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine since it isn't at all drying and works great on dry lips! The pigment is pretty good overall, possibly not the best due to its light shade, however I don't really mind that at all because it appears perfectly fine on my lips. The lasting power is pretty good, since I can put it on at 11am and it will still be there around 3 hours later!

It's such a great shade as you could wear it all year round - it's not too bold, pale or dark, which is exactly the sort of shade that I need!  It's a very natural shade and gives my lips a bit of colour, whilst enhancing them a lot! I really like wearing it with a slightly dark eye as the two seem to balance each other out perfectly.

I would definitely recommend that you try Peach Blossom as it's the perfect shade for Spring and Summer and, from looking up other people's swatches, I can imagine it looking lovely with all skin shades!

Have you ever tried MAC Peach Blossom?
