Summer Essentials

Hey guys! As it has been quite hot recently, and everybody seems to be going on holiday, I thought that it would be quite a fun post to do a post on some of my Summer/holiday essentials. I've gathered together a few of my favourites to hopefully give you some ideas of what to take on holiday with you, or just to generally buy for the Summer!

I always seem to get dry skin in the Summer, more so than in Winter, so I always cling to moisturising body washes! My personal favourite has to be the Elemis Skin Nourishing Shower Cream, since it's a really thick formula and moisturising, to the point where I don't even feel like I need a moisturiser after. Obviously you also want to keep your skin smooth too, whether it's because you want to apply a fake tan or to remove any stubborn patches of dry skin, and lately I've loved The Body Shop Raspberry Body Scrub since it smells amazing and works very well!

As I have mentioned before, I get oily hair but I don't like to wash it everyday as that can make it oilier, so a dry shampoo is a must for when I need to go out and haven't washed my hair that day! My absolute favourite one is the Batiste Dry Shampoo, and the scent that I am currently using is oriental, which smells great for Summer.

Of course you want to keep your face region hydrated too, so a couple of my favourites are the Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer (review here) and the raspberry Balmi! These two are great as make a perfect moisturising base, plus the Balmi has SPF 15 in it to help keep your lips protected.

Now onto makeup! To make your makeup last longer, especially during Summer, you need a good base, which is why I use the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. My possible holy grail foundation has got to be the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation, it's so lightweight and quite a light coverage, however makes my skin look healthier and smoother, plus it contains SPF 15!

Waterproof mascara is quite a big must in the Summer, even more so if you are going swimming or to the beach! A couple of my favourites are the Natural Collection Waterproof Mascara, and the Anastasia Lash Genius. The Anastasia Lash Genius isn't a mascara as such - it's a top coat that you add to any normal mascara and it makes it waterproof, which I think is a really good idea!

For lipsticks my favourites have got to be the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipsticks! These are my all time favourite line of lipsticks, and you all know that I'm a big Chanel fan, but these are so moisturising and not at all drying. I would say that Idylle is my favourite shade (the one in the photos above) as it's a gorgeous coral peach shade!

Bronzer, blush and highlighter is essential for the sunny weather to make you look less dead from the Winter and cold weather, and my favourite for these three is the Sleek Face Form Palette! This is packaged into a small black palette, making it perfect for travelling as it's easy to pop in a carry on or beach bag.

You've got to have polish on your nails during the Summer, and my favourite, which actually works for all year round, is OPI's Glints Of Glinda! It's a pretty nude shade, with an incredible shade and it goes with everything. I personally don't pay a huge amount of attention to my hair, but one of the things that I had to include in this post is the Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray! If you don't know what a surf/salt spray is, it's a spray that contains salt and gives light beachy waves and lots of texture, as if you had just been swimming in the sea.

One of my non-beauty summer essentials would also have to be a big beach bag, like this gorgeous Crew Clothing Ombre Beach Bag* (which is currently on sale for only £25)! This is such a huge bag, so you could easily carry everything that you need in it, especially as it feels really well made and durable.

I hope that you enjoyed this post! I actually had a lot of fun writing it, so maybe I could do a Winter essentials nearer the time? Also I'm sorry for the lack of posts recently, I have completely fallen off the blogging band wagon, but I'm on Summer holidays now meaning that I can hopefully get back into it more!

Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer // REVIEW

Hey guys! Today I am here with another review, this time for quite a hyped up product - the Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer. I've heard lots of people saying how great at moisturising your skin it is, and moisture is definitely something my skin seems to lack, especially when the seasons change! This meant that when I received it in the post, I was beyond excited to try it.

All of the GinZing products in the line are infused with coffee beans and panax ginseng, which help to provide moisture, whilst also making your skin look more awake! It has a really nice orange scent too, which is lovely and fresh, especially during the Summer.

Rather than being a generic creamy moisturiser, the GinZing one is more of a lightweight gel, which reminds me of a primer! The formulation also means that I only need to use a very small amount to cover my whole face, so this pot should hopefully last me a long time. Since this is oil free, it hydrates the skin without making it greasy or shiny, which is perfect for anybody with oily skin!

When I first tried this I was really impressed - I tested it out on one half of my face (a little thing that I like to do with new moisturisers), and after 5 hours I could still feel how soft it had left my skin! I have seen a big difference in my skin since I started using this, it has become more hydrated and much more smoother.

Overall I am seriously impressed with this moisturiser! It has left my skin feeling really soft and much nicer. For £23 I honestly think that it is worth the money, especially since each pot should last a long time! There is also an eye cream and scrub in the GinZing line, so I'll have to look into them some more.

Have you ever tried the Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer?
