The Perfect Christmas Candle? // REVIEW

Hey guys! Can you believe that Christmas is tomorrow?! In relation to that I thought that I would do a Christmasy post, since I've barely done any this year, even though I wanted to. I know that candles are a favourite for a lot of people at this time of year, so a candle is exactly what I am posting about today! They aren't normally the sort of thing that I post about, but when I smelt this one I knew that I had to feature it. The product in question is the Winter Oranges candle (even the name sounds great, right?) from La Montana!

I personally had never heard of La Montana before, since it was only founded this year, and I doubt many of you have either, so I'll explain them a little! The company was started by Cassandra (a former beauty PR) and Jonathan Hall (a former writer), who moved from London to Valencia, in Spain. They then noticed all of the amazing scents around the town, and decided to create a line of candles, taking inspiration from those scents!

La Montana Winter Oranges* is supposed to be inspired by the Valencia orange harvest, that happens during winter, mixed with the scent of English Christmases! I absolutely adore the scent, as it is a mixture of spicy cinnamon and clove, with the sweetness and zestiness of orange - basically the scent that every Christmas/winter product should smell of! It's quite a unique scent, as I don't recall having ever smelt a candle like this, plus it's definitely one of those cosy smelling candles.

Apparently each candle burns for 40 hours, which I think is pretty good, especially since the scent is strong whilst burning it (without being too overpowering)! The packaging is also really pretty, as it has a vintage travel poster design, which helps add to the feel of the candle.

I really couldn't recommend this candle enough to you all, because if you like your Christmasy or spicy scents this is definitely for you! Winter Oranges is on the pricey side at £35, including UK postage, however I honestly think it's worth it for such an amazing candle. I know that I'll definitely have to consider repurchasing it once I use mine up. If you're a bit anxious to commit to buying it though you can request a free sample here, so that you can make sure you actually like the scent!

I hope that you all have a great Christmas! I'm not sure what my posting schedule is going to be like for the last few days of this year, so if I don't post before then - see you all next year!

What is your favourite Christmas candle?

No7 Christmas Makeup Look

Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of posts recently, I've barely had a chance to write, which has led to me not being able to lots of Christmas related posts that I wanted to do this month, but hopefully everything will settle down soon. Anyway, today I am back with quite an exciting post! A short while ago the lovely people at No7 got in contact with me, and asked if I would be interested in recreating one of their three Christmas makeup looks to share with all of you, so obviously I had to say yes. The looks would be perfect for any Christmas or New Year parties, no matter what the situation!

I got to choose which of the three looks to go with (you can see details of them all here) and eventually chose the "day-to-night chic" look! This is quite a simple glittery eye, with a bolder lip colour which really would be great for either night or day.

Also, as a little note, I haven't been paid to write this post, instead I was sent the No7 products needed to create this look, but this obviously does not effect my opinions! Now, onto how I recreated this lovely look.

To start off I sorted out my base, for this I used my regular products! Meaning that I applied a pea-sized amount of the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer all over my face, in a gentle motion with my fingertips, and then blended in a small amount of Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua (shade B10) with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.

For concealer I applied my Nars Creamy Concealer, in Vanilla, under my eyes using my fingertips again! I also used the yellow-toner concealer from the Laura Mercier Undercover Pot, with the Ecotools Deluxe Concealer Brush, onto a couple of spots that I had. To set both of the concealers I used the translucent powder from the Laura Mercier pot, with a fluffy brush that I got from a set off eBay! To set all of the foundation I used the Collection Pressed Power, in Ivory, with another of my unbranded brushes.

Onto eyes now! I started off with the No7 Stay Perfect Shade And Define Eyeshadow in Glistening Ray - a beautiful champagne coloured, creamy eyeshadow crayon. I applied this all over my eyelids with my finger, which made it really quick and easy to apply! I followed up with a small line of the Soap & Glory Supercat Pen Eyeliner on my upper lashline, and a little Faint, from the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette, on my lower lashline to give some more definition.

I then curled my eyelashes and applied the No7 Lash Impact Mascara! This mascara has actually become one of my two favourites, as it rarely ever clumps and gives my lashes a lot of length and volume, plus the packaging is really pretty. For brows I kept it simple and used the Benefit Gimme Brow, in Light, then just brushed it through with a spooli!

With my cheeks I started off with the No7 Natural Blush Cream in Maple Silk (another of my new favourites), which is a lovely dark rose shade, and buffed that onto my cheeks with the Real Techniques Stippling Brush! The other cheek product that I used was the stunning No7 Radiant Spheres Highlighter, and I used a small amount of that on my cheek bones.

To finish everything off I used the No7 High Shine Lip Crayon, in Statement, to create quite a bold, but very wearable, pinky red shade on my lips! I love how this shade tied the whole look together, and mixed with the sparkle of the eyes and highlighter, made it look complete and very party worthy.

No7 also paired a few nail polishes to match with each look, so I thought that I would use the No7 Gel-Look Shine Nail Colour in Golden Sands! This is a bronzey champagne shade which is absolutely gorgeous. I also paired this with the No7 Stay Perfect Base Coat and No7 Stay Perfect Top Coat to help protect my nails, and make the polish last that bit longer!

This is all part of No7's new campaign/challenge where they would like to know how makeup makes you feel, so make sure to say on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #TaDah. I'd love to know if you recreate this look, or one of the other two looks, youself and where you are wearing it out to!

What is your favourite No7 product from this look?

New Blog Design

Hey guys! Some of you may have already noticed a couple of days ago, but as you may be able to tell from the title of this post I got a new blog design! The lovely Kathryn from Venture Designs (previously Floracrest Designs, which Kathryn is currently transitioning from) designed my blog once again and gave it a complete overhaul. Gone are the days of the grey background and large amounts of pastel pink, instead with a much cleaner and nicer look (I think so anyway)! Kathryn has completely tailored my new design to suit me and I can't thank her enough for that. She is very professional and will pretty much do anything to a design that you want!

If you are on the lookout for a new design then I really could not recommend Kathryn enough! Her complete custom designs cost £50, and I really do think that it is worth it. Designs are the first impression of your blog when people visit it, so I definitely think that you should make it a good one and maybe splash out on a new lovely design!

I'd really love to know what you think of Hidden Beauty's new look, and what elements of the design are your favourite!

Lush Christmas

Hey guys! Christmas is my favourite time of year for beauty launches, because everything seems to smell of spices, citrus and amazing scents, especially when it comes to candles and bath/body products! There is one brand that I get most excited about though, which has got to be Lush, and I know I am not alone when I say that. Within a week or so of the new range coming out each year there seems to be an over-abundance of Lush hauls over blogs and Youtube channels, but who can really resist the pretty, glittery goodness of a Christmas Lush product?!

I went into store a couple of days before Halloween, and picked up a few bits to stock up (sadly not everything that I had planned on getting though as so much was sold out)! I thought that it would be quite fun to do a little Lush haul, and also talk about some of the products that you can get in this year's Christmas range.

The first thing that I bought was the Golden Wonder, for £3.75, which is one of my top favourites! This is a bath bomb, and is actually really big. The exterior has an extremely thick layer of golden lustre covering it, so be careful when you pick it up! My friend asked me if this leaves loads of glitter in your bath afterwards, and surprisingly no, it doesn't. You obviously get a bit, but simply pouring some water over that gets rid of it! Inside there are also little coloured sections, so you get a little rainbow of colours as it dissolves. One of the great things about Golden Wonder is the small gold stars in the centre of the bath bomb, which just add to the Christmas effect! The scent of this is very citrusy and slightly spicy, it actually smells really similar to the Costa spiced apple drink which I adore the smell of.

Cinders, costing £2.50, is a product that Lush have realised for the last few years I believe, however I only tried it last year after hearing FleurDeForce raving about it so much! It is quite a small bath bomb and has a mixed scent of cinnamon, orange and bonfires. The best bit though is that it contains popping candy (some of which you can see on the top of the bath bomb), so it sounds amazing when you put it in the bath.

Another of my favourites is the Melting Snowman, which cost £2.25! This was the last one in the store, and when I saw that I practically ran across the shop to pick it up before anybody else could (I think that shows you just how much I like it). This is one of Lush's bath melts, meaning that it is extremely moisturising and leaves my skin feeling amazing, plus it smells of almond but has a spicy kick to it!

I admit that this next one I bought last year and haven't used yet, but Lush have brought it back again this year so I thought that I'd include it too! The Christmas Penguin is a bubble bar and costs £3.25, plus just look at how cute it is. The scent of this is floral mixed with citrus, without being too sweet, making it quite a good neutral scent! One of the nice things about this bubble bar too is the fact that it makes your bath water a lovely sky blue shade, which adds to the calmness of a bath.

Next is another bubble bar, this time Candy Mountain, which only costs £2.75! Again this is one of mine from last year, but it has been brought back again by Lush and I am so glad. This is swirly candy pink and white, with a slight silver lustre coating over it! The scent is almost identical to the Snow Fairy shower gel, which I'm sure you've all heard people talking about, in the sense that it's the same vanilla-candyfloss scent.

One thing that I have strangely never tried from Lush is any of their bar soaps, even though I had heard really good things about them! I was eventually convinced to try one when my friend bought a piece of the Yog Nog soap (which costs £3.40 per 100g) and told me to smell it. All that I can say is oh my freaking goodness - it honestly is probably one of the best smelling things that I've even encountered, so obviously I had to buy a piece for myself!

It has a really gorgeous smell, very spicy and nutmegy, but also quite sweet. The formulation is also lovely too since it's very moisturising without being at greasy! Also just a little note, when I took a photo of this I had already used it once, hence the slightly strange white exterior, so it does look better when you first buy it.

There are some great little gift sets that Lush have realised this year too, and I was lucky enough to get my hands on a couple! The first being the cute Little Snow Fairy* set, costing £8.50, which comes wrapped in pretty pink and silver paper, along with silver ribbon. This contains a 100g bottle of the fairly legendary and popular Snow Fairy shower gel, along with 100g of pink Fun! These are both product that I had never tried before, so I was fairly excited to test them out.

Snow Fairy has a very sweet scent, without being too sickly - it actually reminds me of strawberry Hubba Bubba! If you don't already know what Fun is, think of Play-Doh, but you can use it as a bubble bar, shampoo, soap - basically anything soap orientated. The pink Fun again is sweet, but slightly more sour than Snow Fairy, I would guess that it contains raspberry. This would definitely make a lovely gift or stocking filler for somebody at Christmas, I know that I would be very happy myself if I got it!

The other gift set is the Joy To The World* set, which costs £8.50 aswell! This contains a 45g pot of Dream Cream hand and body lotion, and a 120g block of Snowcake soap. Dream Cream is apparently Lush's number 1 product, and is great for very sensitive skin! It is made up of a mixture of cocoa butter, oat milk, chamomile and a few other products, making it very moisturising and cooling. This smells largely of lavender, which is a scent that I really don't like, but it does mellow after a little while making it more bearable!

Snowcake's scent is one that I'm not too keen on either, and that is marzipan! I know that a lot of people love this soap so I guess that I must be one of the few odd ones out. Just from picking this up you can really feel how moisturising and buttery it is, without being greasy, meaning this set would be perfect for somebody with dry skin! Like Little Snow Fairy, this would make a great gift, just make sure that the recipient likes the scents of marzipan and lavender first!

I hope that you enjoyed this post! Christmas time at Lush is honestly my favourite, so I think I will have to make an order online to stock up until next Christmas (can you believe that it is 2015 in a little over a month?!). I'd love to know if you are planning on picking some Christmas products up from Lush, or if you have already, and if you are planning on giving anyone some as a present!

What do you think of this year's Christmas Lush range?

Beauty Advent Calendars 2014

Hey guys! This is officially my first Christmas post of the season and I thought that it would be quite fun to start off with one about the beauty advent calendars of 2014. This year there are quite a lot, eleven that I know of, so I thought that I would do a little rundown of them all! Sadly I won't be buying a one of these lovely calendars this year, however if you are planning on buying one you may find this post useful.

Also a little note, obviously I will be discussing some of the products that you will find within the advent calendars, meaning if you'd like no spoilers at all then I'd be a little careful! This is quite a lengthy post too, so be very prepared!

First up is L'Occitane! I haven't actually ever tried anything from L'Occitane before as they aren't really a brand that I have been really drawn to, but I hear that their hand creams are really nice.

Rather than being the traditional 24 or 25 doored advent calendar this actually only has 13, containing some of their most popular products in mini forms! They include an 8ml Divine Cream, 10ml Shea Butter Hand Cream and a few more (the full list is on their website).

For £45, and considering that there are only 13 doors, I personally wouldn't pick this one if I were to buy a beauty advent calendar! If you'd like to test out some L'Occitane products though, for less money than buying them individually, I'd definitely recommend getting this.

Jo Malone is one of those brands that I automatically associate with luxury, whether it is their candles or fragrances, the design of everything is just so beautiful! When I spotted that they were releasing their own advent calendar this year I was fairly excited, that was until I saw the price of £250 (yes, you read that right, £250). If only I could afford that!

If you are one of the lucky people that could buy this piece of luxury then you will find 24 special doors, or drawers in this particular case! Within there are 23 minis, that include a 9ml Lime, Basil & Mandarin Cologne and 15ml Grapefruit Body Creme, however on the 24th day you get a deluxe 50ml sized Pomegranate Noir Body Creme.

I think that it would have been a nice idea to possibly have a mini candle or two, but alas Jo Malone haven't done that - hopefully they do next year!

For £59.50 you can get the lovely Elemis advent calendar, which contains 12 products! The thing that I love about this calendar is that you get a whole new skincare regime at the end of it, so it would be absolutely perfect for somebody looking to change their skincare routine about.

The 12 products in the advent calendar include a 50ml Skin Nourishing Shower Cream (one of my favourite shower creams, especially in winter, as it is really moisturising), 20ml Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm and 14 Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules! You can see the whole list of products online, but as you can see you do get quite a lot in this one.

Liberty is probably the first shop that I think of when it comes to old luxurious shops, so I hoped that their advent calendar would be no different - the luxurious part that is! I love the design of this calendar, as it's got a hand drawn image of the Liberty store covered in snow, then the inside has a pretty blue and green peacock feather design. Contained within the Liberty calendar is 25 cute little drawers that hold some products like a mini Diptyque Baies Candle, Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick and 50ml Decleor Aroma Confort Body Milk - so there are some lovely products!

This calendar does come at a cost of £149 though, meaning it is definitely on the pricey side! If you'd like to really treat yourself, or somebody else, with some gorgeous high-end products then this is definitely for you.

Ciate have released an advent calendar for the past couple of years now, and they always seem to be quite popular (especially when people get them very cheap on the final day of Clothes Show Live), so I guess that Ciate must be doing something right! The design of this is actually fairly similar to Liberty's, with the snow covered building front, so I'm not sure if some copying has gone on here. This calendar contains 24 products, which are 15 mini paint pots, 1 full sized paint pot and 8 effects - I'd say that's a pretty fair amount for £49!

I've actually considered buying one of these calendars for myself, as I love the thought of having a new polish to use everyday, even if the logistics of that could end up in fairly ruined nails! I think that the only thing stopping me has been the fact that I own far, far too many polishes myself, so I'd avoid this one if you have the same problem.

Again, YOU are one of the companies that have released an advent calendar each year for a while now (since 2012 I believe), and they seem to have got the hang of it! This has 24 products within it, which are apparently worth over £240, so if that's correct there's definitely a huge saving to be made for its £49.95 pricetag. Some of the 24 products include a 7.5ml Benefit Porefessional, 15g GLAMGLOW Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment and 30ml Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser set, meaning that there are some great products that you'd be able to test out!

When I heard that Lush were releasing their own advent calendar I think that I may have squealed with excitement a bit! I am probably one of the biggest Lush fans, especially when it comes to their Christmas range, to the point where I honestly think that I could name most of their products and describe the scent to you. This meant that this was probably the advent calendar that I considered buying most, but this sadly only has 12 products in it for £49.95, so I just couldn't really spent that!

Some of the 12 products include a Golden Wonder bath ballistic (one of my favourites), Snow Angel bath melt and Holly Golightly bubble bar. Purely out of interest too I worked out that the 12 products, when bought individually, would be worth roughly £45.19 altogether, so I guess that you are paying a few pound for the fact that they are in an advent calendar!

Personally I wouldn't buy this for myself, as I've tried a lot of the 12 products already, however if you would like to try a selection of some great Lush products then I'd definitely suggest getting this one!

Even though the Boots No7 calendar is the cheapest out of them all, it does look really good, and people must agree as it has now sold out! In this you will find 25 products, altogether worth a huge £135, meaning the price of £35 is definitely very good. Some of the products include a mini No7 Lash Impact Mascara, 40ml No7 Blissful Bodywash, No7 Eye Colour Brush and lots more!

Even though this isn't available online, I'd definitely have a look instore if you'd like to buy it, as Boots seems to be that store that has plenty of stock in the stores when it's sold out online!

9. The Body Shop 24 Days Of Christmas - £50 - No longer available online
The Body Shop advent calendar holds 24 doors, with £83 worth of lovely products contained within them! Some of the products include the new Glazed Apple Shower Gel, Shea Body Butter and Vitamin E Moisture Cream (I'm sadly not sure on the size of everything though).

The other good thing about this one is the fact that for every calendar you purchase, The Body Shop will make a donation to War Child, which help children in war-torn areas go to school!

I think that the Benefit advent calendar is probably the one that people get the most excited over! Since they started making it last year, the two times that it has been released it has sold out extremely quickly as they only have a small stock.

For £60 you get a calendar full of 18 of Benefit's most popular products and 6 extras, which include a mini They're Real Mascara, mini Watt's Up and heart shaped paper clips! I personally think that the 6 extra products don't sound that great, and sound quite cheap, however I guess most people buy it for the 18 Benefit products.

If you managed to get your hands on one of these then I'd love to know if you were able to get one very easily, and what you think of it once we get into December!

11. Selfridges Enchanted Spells - £85 - No longer available online
Another luxury advent calendar this year is from Selfridges! I can definitely understand why this sold out fairly quickly, as it is jam-packed with high-end products from brands like YSL, Lancome and Kiehl's. This does seem to largely be made up of Lancome products, so I would say that it's worth quite a bit more than the price of £85! Some of the 24 products include a mini YSL Opium Eau De Parfum, Urban Decay Potion Primer and Lancome Bi-Facil (I'm unsure of the size of those last two).

I hope that you all liked this post, as it definitely took me a while to plan and write! There are some amazing looking beauty advent calendars this year, so I really can't wait to see next year's. Let me know if you are planning on buying a beauty advent calendar, or if you've got one already, and which one you bought!

Which company do you think should make a beauty advent calendar next?

Daniel Wellington Classy Sheffield Watch + GIVEAWAY

Hey guys! You may have seen dotted around Instagram and various blogs the gorgeous Daniel Wellington watches - they look really elegant and just have a level of sophistication about them. I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Classy Sheffield Watch*, but I was also given a Classic Sheffield Watch aswell to give away to one of you lucky people!

I spent a little while debating which watch I should pick for myself, and after much deliberation I eventually chose the Classy Sheffield Watch with rose gold hardware! It looked like one of those lovely, yet understated watches that you could pair with pretty much anything - it was has quite a small clockface too which is a bonus for my small wrists. The strap of the watch is made of leather, and there are little Swarovski stones instead of numbers, which makes it look a little more pretty and feminine!

I also love the fact that you can buy different straps for the watch, meaning if I ever wanted to switch things around a bit I could simply just buy a new strap without having to buy a whole new watch. Since I got my watch I've pretty much worn it non-stop, although I'm still getting used to actually checking the time on it rather than on my phone!

Now as I mentioned, I was kindly given one of the Daniel Wellington Classic Sheffield Watches to giveaway too, so if you'd like to have a chance at winning that then keep reading below!

The ladies Classic Sheffield Watch also comes with the rose gold hardwear, although it's slightly bigger than the Classy Sheffield version, making it possibly better for those of you who like bigger watches! Just to add too, in the first photo the strange red line on the clockface is part of the protective film so don't worry, the watch is completely as it should be. If you'd like to have a chance of winning this beautiful watch for yourself (or as a stunning Christmas gift for somebody) then make sure to fill out the Rafflecopter form before the competition ends on the 8th of December at 12am GMT! Firstly the boring bit though, the terms and conditions.

• The prize is for one Daniel Wellington Classic Sheffield Watch in the rose gold shade.
• You must follow my blog on Bloglovin'.
• Sadly this is only for UK residents.
• You must be 16 or over to enter, otherwise you must get permission from your parent or guardian because I will require your address.
• Entries from competition accounts and multiple entries will not be accepted.
• The giveaway closes on the 8th of December at 12am GMT and I will contact the winner via Twitter and/or email.
• The winner must reply within 4 days of me emailing/tweeting them, otherwise I will pick a new winner.
• I am not responsible if the prize gets lost or damaged in the post.
• The prize is sent by me rather than Daniel Wellington.

If you aren't the lucky person who wins and would still like to try a Daniel Wellington watch, then you can use the code "hiddenbeauty" on their site here and get 15% off the cost of any watch of your choosing. Good luck to everybody entering and congratulations to the future winner!

Best Blush & Bronzers

Hey guys! I thought that it would be quite fun to do a post about my favourite blushes and bronzers, because after all they are the things that transform your makeup. I've picked six of my favourites (three of each), a few being higher-end and a couple drugstore ones so there is hopefully atleast one that would suit you! Now onto the products, starting off with bronzers first and then blushes!

The bronzer that I have been using the longest has to be from the Sleek Face Form palette, as it's a perfect bronzer. This actually comes in a palette with a blush and highlighter (which are lovely too), but for the sake of this post just imagine they aren't there! The bronzer shade is perfect for my skin, plus it is matte for those of you who are wondering.

The pigmentation isn't that strong, but that can be quite handy as it makes it slightly easier to buildup and it reduces the risk of ending up with an orange line where you've over-applied it (you all know what I'm talking about)! It is also easy to blend, and last all day.

GloMinerals is a brand that I hadn't actually heard of before getting this bronzer, so I was really excited to test it out! I must say that this has quickly become one of my favourite bronzers for a number of reasons. First off it blends beautifully, which I learnt the first time I used it and put slightly too much on my brush - woops! It is also very, very pigmented - you only need to lightly dab your brush in the powder and you have enough to bronze everywhere you need.

In the pan it does actually look like there is a lot of shimmer in the bronzer, which did make me a bit apprehensive at first, but when applied I can barely recognise any sort of shimmer!

The Bourjois Delice De Pourdre Bronzing Powder is probably known to most bloggers as the bronzer that smells and looks like chocolate! I know that some people think that the shade 51 is fairly orange, but for me I can't really see the orange once applied.

There is a slightest shimmer, however when applied to the skin you don't notice it, so it's great to use for contouring! It also blends nicely and lasts all day without wear. This is just a generally nice and purse-friendly bronzer which is definitely worth picking up, if you don't already own it!

Ginger Pop is a pretty satin pinky coral shade, which is set in the cutest little daisy shape! The formulation is gorgeous, as it's very smooth and doesn't feel powdery, helping it also feel light and airy on the skin. As for pigmentation it is spot-on, not too strong and not too weak, making it the perfect blush to blend onto the skin with minimal effort!

This is a blush that I have mentioned many, many times on my blog in the past! Rather than being the generic peach or pink toned blush, this is a shimmering rose shade which I think is beautiful. The pigmentation is very high, so a high dab on your brush is all that you need! I must have used this atleast fifty times, and there is barely a tend in the powder "dome", meaning that even though it's on the pricey side I'd definitely say that it's worth the money!

I had heard quite a few bloggers talking about the Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blushes in the past, namely Essie Button, and I was really intrigued by them! The thought of a blush that is like a watercolour paint just sounded very strange, but like it could be a very good idea. I was lucky enough to be able to try one out in the shade Cherub and it is honestly an amazing blush!

You need to use the smallest bit of blush on the end of your finger, since they are seriously pigmented, then I just blend it in quickly with my finger tips! I love how easy it is to apply, plus the shade is a lovely light rose shade that seems to suit me really well. You do need to be careful with how quickly you apply it as it dries quickly, so just be a little cautious of that! I'm definitely going to have to buy some more of these blushes as they are great, plus I don't think that £15.50 is that bad for a bottle of blush that will last me ages.

They are my best blush and bronzers! I hope that you enjoyed this post, and if you'd like me to do more like this in the future then let me know. I'd love to know if you've tried any of the blushes or bronzers mentioned, and what you thought of them!

Monthly Advertisers - October

Hey guys! Can you believe that it is already the 25th of October?! Today I am back today for a quick post about my Monthly Advertisers, to introduce you to a great blog which I'm sure that you will love, so without further ado onto Jordan...

Blog | Bloglovin' Twitter

Hi everyone! I’m Jordan, a 22 year old beauty blogger, currently on medical leave from university with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. My blog focuses on beauty reviews, favourites and hauls. I set up my blog mainly because I’m sure my friends and family were getting fed up of me constantly telling them about my new favourite blushes or the new products I was looking forward to trying! It has also helped me to deal with my illness a lot, being bed-bound for days on end can get very boring & lonely! Although I haven’t been blogging for long, I absolutely love it! I hope if you pop by you enjoy reading my posts as much as I enjoy writing them!

Make sure to have a look at Jordan's blog as it is lovely (plus how cute is her blog design)! Also if you would like more information about the advertising pages that I offer please have a peek here

Twice Haul

Hey guys! Today I am here with another haul post, containing some very exciting things, all from Twice. If you had never heard of Twice before, they are an American company which sell second-hand, and sometimes new, clothing and handbags! Now when I said second-hand your mind may think of old clothes, that nobody would want, however Twice only sell like-new products from recent collections. The brands that they sell include Kate Spade, J.Crew, Ralph Lauren and much more, the only difference is that they cost a fraction of their original RRP!

Even though Twice are an American brand they actually post internationally to the UK, Canada and Australia (also I checked, you don't have to pay tax and duty)! Ontop of this, you can also sell any of your unwanted clothes and handbags to them, helping you earn some money. Sadly this option is currently only available for those living in America, but hopefully they change that in the future!

I must admit, when I saw that they saw that they sell a lot of high-end brands, I was a little hesitant about whether or not the products, bags especially, were genuine or not! After having a little look around the Q&A section, I read that they check all of their products for authenticity, so I guess that clears that one up.

Now that I have got that little explanation done, onto what I bought from Twice when I was given some money to spend! I honestly spent hours searching through everything on the website, trying to find my few favourite things (which was so hard, especially since there seemed to be loads of new products coming onto the site every hour), however I eventually narrowed it down to five things!

Their handbag section is actually quite new to the site, so I obviously had to get something from there, or should I say two somethings! The first one that I ended up going for was the gorgeous Kate Spade Palm Springs Maggie Satchel* in Pebble, which cost $114.95/£71.52 (RRP of $398/£247.63). I spotted this beautiful light, blush pink leather bag and had to buy it! It has so much room inside, plus it is actually my first designer handbag which is exciting. This was brand new with its original Kate Spade tag and dust bag, and even though it had a couple of little marks on the back (which I've managed to wipe off), it is seriously amazing value for money considering the original cost!

The other bag oriented thing that I got was again from Kate Spade, this time it was the Kate Spade Spotted Neda Purse* for $49.95/£31.08 (RRP of $198/£123.19)! I have wanted a Kate Spade purse for absolutely ages, so when I saw this I knew that I would be buying it, especially since it has spots on which is probably my favourite print. The lining of this is lovely, and also fits so much in it!

Strangely I don't own a single pair of black jeans, so I thought that it would be a good idea to get some, especially since monochrome seems to popular for autumn and winter this year! With that in mind I decided to go for a pair of American Eagle Black Jegging Jeans*, for $16.95/£10.55 (RRP $50/£31.11). Even though these are classed as jeggings on the Twice website (since they contain 2% spandex), they feel, for all intensive purposes, like normal jeans! The fit of these are honestly amazing - they aren't too long and are really comfy.

I got a couple of tops too! The first being a MANGO Brown Striped Blouse* for only $8.95/£5.57 (RRP $50/£31.11).  I must admit that even though this is in the size XS, it is very oversized, and I did think that the brown was a bit darker than it was in real life, but I think that it looks alright on - I just need to find a belt of some sort to help pull it in at the waist! Apart from that though it feels well made, and the material is nice!

The second top, and last thing that I bought, was a Uniqlo Oatmeal 3/4 Sleeve Top* for $7.95/£4.95 (RRP $14.90/£9.27)! I love 3/4 sleeve tops, and loved the colour of this, so obviously I had to buy it. Uniqlo isn't a brand that I had heard of, however the material of this is quite thick and extremely soft, meaning that I'll have to look into some of their other tops!

I was really impressed with my purchases and what you could get from Twice, for a fraction of what the products would normally cost! I really wish that there were more shops like this, as it's a great way of being able to buy designers labels without paying the full cost.

I have also kindly been given a 50% off code (yes, 50%) for all of my readers on their first order, to help indulge in some somewhat guilt free shopping! If you'd like to take advantage of that lovely offer then make sure that you click here, and you should get a little code popup for you to use. I'd love to know what you buy if you get something from Twice too!

What do you think of the concept of Twice?

Top 5 Autumn Nail Polishes

Hey guys! Autumn has officially started and October is here, so I thought that it would be fun to post about my top 5 autumn nail polishes! I am a little stereotypical with my autumn nail polishes, and love berry red shades, however blues and nudes are also lovely. I actually had quite a hard job picking my favourite five, out of the fifty-plus shades that I own, however I just about narrowed it down!

China Glaze Nail Lacquer - Blue Bells Ring (80653)
How pretty is the shade of this polish?! This is a light midnight blue, with tiny pieces of silver glitter contained in it, which makes it a stunning shade. In the swatch I used two coats of polish, although you can very easily get away with only one thin coat, which just shows how pigmented it is!

I also must say that the application is gorgeous. You get no streaks whatsoever, and it applies very smooth and evenly! I get easily atleast five days wear out of it with practically no wear at all, which I am really happy with. Infact I may apply this on my nails tomorrow, so keep an eye out for a possible NOTD (nails of the day) on my Instagram!

OPI Nail Lacquer - Glints Of Glinda*
Forget autumn, this is my absolute favourite nail polish any day of the year! Glints Of Glinda is a peachy nude, with quite a gel-like texture. I use two coats of this to get the perfect shade, and it then lasts for atleast four days (that's as long as I can last without picking it off my nails), but even then there is no signs of chipping or damage at all. This dries pretty quickly, although I do find that it can be a little delicate a few hours after applying it, possibly because of the gel-like formulation!

Of course this isn't your traditional autumn nail polish shade, but if you like lighter polishes in autumn then this is definitely one for you!

Barry M Nail Paint - Raspberry (273)
Raspberry is a deep raspberry shade, with a very strong shine! The formulation of this is fairly runny, and I would have to say that this does take quite a while to dry, so be a bit cautious about that if you're in a rush. I find that I need two or three layers to get a really strong shade! The lasting power is fairly average, around two or three days before it shows wear. I admit that this isn't a great polish if you are rushing, or want it to last you for days, but I just adore the colour!

Essie Nail Lacquer - Leading Lady (934)
Some may say that because Leading Lady is a glitter red shade it is more winter/Christmas orientated, but since it is a wine red/burgundy instead of bright red I'd say that it would be perfect for either! You only need two thin coats to get a really strong, glittery shade and it also dries ridiculously fast (does anybody else notice that glitter polishes always seem to dry quicker than those that aren't?).

This is more of a semi-matte polish than a glossy finish, and it also dries quite rough, meaning that you will definitely need a top coat! I do need to say that this is a complete and utter pain to remove, although that seems to be a reoccurring problem with glitter polishes, so I'm sure that you all know what I mean.

It's just generally a lovely glitter red nail polish, which is definitely worth buying!

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour - Accessoire (573)*

Accessoire is a deep burgundy shade, which is quite vampy! You only need two, possibly even one, coats of it as it is quite opaque. It doesn't dry as quickly as Blue Bells Ring, but it isn't as slow as Raspberry, so somewhere inbetween those two! I get around three days wear before it starts showing any signs of wear, plus the finish is very even and it rarely ever goes streaky when I apply it.

If you are after a dark shade for autumn then this could be it! Accessoire is a very classy shade, which I think would suit most people.

So they are my top 5 autumn nail polishes! Whilst writing this post I actually remember that I still haven't used my OPI Matte Top Coat (which I got for my birthday or Christmas last December), so I must try that out really soon, since I think that matte nails look nicer in autumn and winter. If you could let me know what sort of shades you wear with a matte top coat I'd really appreciate it! I've also been looking at some other, non-berry, shades for autumn like the Nails Inc Gel Polish in the shade Porchester Square, so I'd love to know if you've ever tried/reviewed that one.

What are your favourite nail polishes for autumn?
