Estee Lauder Palettes - Heat Wave + Batik Sun // REVIEW

Hey guys! (Oo check out the new font) I was lucky enough to be sent two of the palettes from the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess collection that was recently launched in May in the UK. The two palettes are Heat Wave, a gorgeous shimmery highlighter, and Batik Sun, which is a selection of five eyeshadows, a few very bold colours and two rather pale, shimmery colours.

Estee Lauder Illuminating Powder Gelee - Heat Wave - £30*  First is the gorgeous Heat Wave palette. This is a highlighter, illuminating powder, whatever you want to call it! I haven't tried many highlighters in the past, as I've never really felt the need to use one. This particular one looks so, so pretty in the pan, it is moulded into the shape of sun beams and has an amazing shine to it!

Whilst the colour may look a bit too glittery and intense to be actually worn, once applied to the cheek bones it gives a warm glow, but still subtle enough for it to be worn during the day. You barely need to blend it at all before it gives your cheek bones an instant highlight! It lasts all day, without even using a primer, and takes a matter of seconds to apply.

Whilst it may be £30 (it's selling out really quickly), I do think that it's worth the money as this is a gorgeous highlighter!

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Eyeshadow Palette - Batik Sun - £35* Batik Sun is definitely a very summery palette. With coral, turquoise, purpley-brown, nude and frost eyeshadows that have a very pretty, golden shimmer to them, they are very bold but can be quite easily made subtle. The pigmentation is great, although I found that the coral and turquoise weren't as good as the others for some reason.

Personally I don't tend to wear these sort of bright colours, I normally stick to more neutral shades, however I have loved blending a bit of the nude-golden colour into the middle of my eyelid to give it a bit more definition. The lasting power is very good, and did last easily throughout the whole day (I used them with my Helen E eye primer). I think this would be a great little palette for taking on holiday with you, and can be easily tucked away in your bag!

Have you tried either of these palettes? I adored the highlighter especially, and would definitely repurchase it!
