Benefit Gimme Brow // REVIEW

My eyebrows have always been hard to find products for, because of my hair colour, so when I was at a Benefit event back in the summer the lovely staff recommended that I test out Benefit Gimme Brow in light/medium! As this is quite a light ashy brown shade, they said that it would most likely suit my eyebrows, plus it's easy to use. I was a little apprehensive, but gave it a test at the counter, and was surprised to find that it did actually work really well on me! This meant that when I got back home I hopped online, bought it and eagerly waited for its arrival.

The application of this, as I said, is so simple since the packaging is very similar to a regular mascara, just a little smaller! You have the tiny mascara wand, which makes it easy to apply the gel without creating any clumps. All I do is gently brush my eyebrow hairs up with Gimme Brow, then run a spooli though them to get them back into shape and make sure that the product is distributed completely - that's it! I know that a lot of people have troubles using powders to fill their brows in, so if you have that trouble you really must try this out.

Aswell as giving colour, Gimme Brow also contains tiny fibres and gel, helping to give the look of fuller and natural brows! As for lasting power I've had no troubles at all, since it always stays in perfect condition whether I have makeup on for 12 hours or 2 hours!

At £17.50 this is maybe a little pricey for some people, but I would very happily pay that amount since my makeup routine wouldn't be complete without this great product!

Have you ever tried Benefit Gimme Brow?

  1. Sounds great, I do love a good brow product :) I like to use Soap & Glory's Archery which has a pen and pencil side and that works really well for me xx

    1. Oo right! Gimme Brow seems to be one of the top brow mascaras that you can get, so maybe the Model Co one was one of the bad ones. Pencils are definitely better if you want more of a structured brow! x

  3. I've always wanted to try something like this but I have the same issue with colour, except I can never get anything dark enough. Hope Benefit bring out a super dark one cos I'd love to try it!

    1. Benefit actually do a dark version of this, which does appear to be pretty dark! Maybe you should go and visit a counter to have a little test :)

  4. I really like the Gimme Brow, it was one of my 2014 favourites. I've recently bought the Rimmel brow gel to see if it's just as good, as this one is pretty expensive! xx

    1. Yay! My friend bought the Rimmel version a few weeks ago, since she didn't want to splash out on Gimme Brow even after a lot of encouragement from me haha. She seems to think it's good, although the brush is huge! Let me know how you get on with it x

  5. I think I need to try this soon! If you wanted to add to your brow collection have you tried Anastasia BH Dipbrow? They have an auburn and caramel shade which might also suit your hair :) xx

    1. Haha lucky you! Yeah the fibres are good, plus they aren't big and obvious helping your brows look more natural x

  7. I have this and quite like it for natural looking brows, but I prefer powder for more intense look :) I don't think the colour is dark enough for me though so it makes sense you love it when the colour is right!

    1. Yeah Gimme Brow is definitely for those who like natural looking brows, so I can see why a lot of people would prefer powders! That's a shame, they do actually do a darker shade though if you wanted to try it x

  12. Great review! This is such a good product, I had it ages ago and the brush makes it so easy to use and is the right size for eyebrows. Also the colour is nice and natural. x

  13. I have not tried anything from benefit and I also have not tried any brow products in general because my eyebrows are really think and unruly so I don't really know what to do with them so i just leave them alone most of the time.

    1. Definitely give Benefit a try soon, they do some lovely products! Ah right, I guess though brow products like these are to make your eyebrows look thicker, so if you have thick brows already there isn't much point. Maybe you could try just a clear brow gel to hold everything in place? x

  15. I love Benefit Gimme Brow too - but I have to use to over waxes or powders/pencils as more of a setting product because my eyebrows are just so sparse at the ends! xo

    1. Awh really? Yeah that's a good idea! Just make sure that you haven't got a lot of product on the brush, lightly brush your brow hairs upwards with it, and them run a spooli through them to brush the hairs into place - that's what I do and it seems to work every time x

  22. I agree that this is a little pricey but I love this product as I also use it everyday :) My only gripe is how the product collects around the top of the tube. I do agree as well that this does not budge during the day, which is fabulous so you don't have to worry about rubbing your brows off hehe.

    1. Yeah, and if you think of how many uses you get out of it it doesn't seem that much! That's the exact problem I have (oops I forgot to mention it in the review), I've no idea why it does it though x
