Products I Won't Be Repurchasing

Hey guys! Today I have a post that I have wanted to write a long before I even started blogging, and that is the "products I won't be repurchasing". Remember all of the opinions I state are just my own, and you may think otherwise!

                                            The Beauty Emporium Bath Marbles

First of all are the Beauty Emporium Bath Marbles (which I bought from M&S). These are little balls that are filled with bath oils, so they dissolve in the bath. I have used these a few times but each time they have made my skin feel very greasy and not very nice, however I made a huge mistake the other day.

I had my hair down whilst I was having a bath, got out, and left it to air dry. A few hours later I noticed that it still looked wet, but it didn't feel it, it had however gone exceptionally greasy, I realised that the only thing different in my bath this time were the bath marbles. The next morning I had to wash my hair THREE times to get the oil out of it, it was that bad! So I wasn't impressed with these at all.

Rimmel London Lycra Pro Professional Finish

Second is the Rimmel Lycra Pro Profession Finish (wow that is a long name), in the shade Trend Spotting. This colour is absolutely gorgeous, so I honestly couldn't resist getting it. It was so easy to apply because of the large brush, and it did look really nice on.

However after a couple of hour I noticed that the tip of my nails didn't have any polish on anymore.  At first I thought it hadn't dried properly and rubbed off. I used it a few more times and it did exactly the same thing, but it was definitely try each time. Even if the colour and finish is amazing, it really shouldn't come off the tips of my nails after only a couple of hours!

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker

Next is the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker, in the shade Candy Gloss. I adore Soap & Glory, but I don't feel the same about this particular product. The shades are very nice, but I find it is just too sticky. If I wear it out, and there is any wind at all, I end up with hair-covered lips. Due to the stickiness it feels rather uncomfortable! The only other good thing I can say about it, is that it does last for quite a long time (if you can bare to keep it on).

The Body Shop Rainforest Balance Shampoo

I bought the Body Shop Rainforest Balance shampoo quite a while back, however I felt that I really needed to include this in this post. I get rather oily hair, and have done for many years, so I am always on the look for shampoos/conditioners for oily hair. When I saw that The Body Shop were doing one, I jumped at the chance and decided to give it a go!

The first thing I noticed was the smell, which was a bit like the smell of a forest, I wasn't too keen on that for my hair. I used it around 4 times, but each time it made my hair look very flat, and made it go rather greasy quite quickly, which isn't the best thing!

I was pretty disappointed with this, as I usually love The Body Shop's products, and they normally work perfectly well, unfortunately not this though.

                                                                Make Up Academy Fur-Effect Nails

I was so excited to get the Make Up Academy Fur-Effect Nails, in the shade Fluff & Cuddles, because from what I had seem, they looked really nice. Quite frankly I was very disappointed in this!

Firstly you had to apply a base colour to your nails, which I did, and then you needed to put your nails in the fluff whilst the polish was wet. I ended up taking off the sifter lid as it took forever to try and get the amount of fluff I needed through it. I did exactly what it told me to do, and made sure my nails were completely dry before I went and washed my hands. As soon as the fur got water on it, it started to come off my nails. By the time I had finished washing my hands, there were patches of fur missing, which really shouldn't happen!

I had to take the polish and fur off soon after, because the dye from the fur had actually started to come off, so I would have preferred not to stain my house purple! I was very upset that this didn't work, as they did look really cute finished.

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner

Finally the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner. This one is probably the one I am most unhappy with, as I had heard so many people saying that it was an amazing eyeliner. So I was extremely keen to try it out!

I had used it a couple of times, and it really did work well, however it then came to sharpening it. As soon as I started to sharpen it it started to crumble, and it continued to until its "death". It would even crumble as I was putting it on, which is really not good at all! Once it had worn down until it was about 5cm long, the liner part actually came out, which obviously meant I had to throw it away.

I was so unhappy with this product, as it started out to be a great waterproof eyeliner!

Have you tried any of these products? What did you think about them? Please tell me in the comments! :)

  1. Really honest reviews here. For greasy hair try out Lush's shampoo called I Love Juicy! It really helps sort it out and smells refreshing. I was interesting in reading reviews about the MUA Fur nails and def know to steer clear of it now! x x

  2. Oo I might give that a go, I didn't know it was for greasy hair! One of the shampoos I use at the moment is the Lush Jumping Juniper, that is pretty good. :)

  5. I had my suspicions about the fur nails! I agree with you too about the rainforest shampoo. I had to ditch it because my hair never felt clean.

  6. The best thing to do if you get oil in your hair is so put shampoo on it before you wet it! It then comes straight out :) love your blog btw.
